The Wall Street Journal has a long article on page A5 about how Anchorage Alaska has never had more snow in its recorded history than this ending winter.
What this tells us about the reality of alleged global warming is…absolutely nothing!
Rationalists and sober-minded people must resist the temptation to espouse the mental weakness of their religious global warmist opponents.
Isolated facts are isolated facts whichever side you are on: reason or unreason.
Sir,
The origin of such things, even in Alaska where it is very cold during that season, is always “the coldest winter in ten years,” and the record numbers grow from there. See also http://www.farmersalmanac.com/weather-alaska/ for a relatively normal Alaskan weather forecast, 2011 – 2012.
Here’s the formula:
1. Pick a circumstance. Natural or man-made.
2. Make it a crisis, generate worry about it.
3. Build the crisis up to a size that only government can address. (bad science is permitted, have the media repeat the lies until they become accepted as facts).
4. Call on the government or create a new bureaucracy to resolve the crisis, with the understanding that it’s going to take a long time and money to fix. Heck, the issue may never get resolved.
5. Give that bureaucracy the power to regulate whatever it thinks it needs to in order to handle the crisis. (even take things over from the private sector if necessary)
6. Transfer wealth and freedom from the private sector to big government.
7. Cash in on it politically, of financially, like Al Gore did to the tune of a billion dollars.http
8. Repeat.
Examples: Social Security, Medicare Medicaid, Head Start, Global Warming, School Lunch Programs, AFDC, Food Stamps, etc. There are 159 seperate bureaucracies created under Obamacare- he really understands the formula!Reference: http://fullmetalpatriotblog.com/2010/04/list-of-the-159-new-government-bureaucracies-created-by-obamacare/
